The Blue Path

The Sibyllion team is very proud to present its first game 

Let’s start with a quick introduction : 

Pitch

A water droplet ventures into a journey through a geological rift towards a deeply hidden water table. 

Type of game

Exploration platformer, The Blue Path offers an odyssey of droplets across numerous mineral landscapes.

General information

Our game aims to be casual friendly and will let you go through colorful environments,  each of them having their amount of challenges and secrets. Only you can choose how long every step you take will be!

Replayability

The water cycle never ends, and your arrival at the water table isn’t the end of your journey. Each run will require decisionmaking on the path you decide to take, which means you’ll need more than one to discover everything.

Some of your choices will impact your next runs too!

Will you be able to unravel every mystery the vein is hiding ?

Droplet's mechanics

Let’s dive a bit deeper into the main mechanics of our famous Droplet.

The three states of water are the core of our gameplay. They’ll enable a fluid movement in three dimensions et the discovery of new paths : 

• The liquid state is the most basic method to move. It allows for instant direction changes, really welcome in platforming, or to gather and keep an item within you.

• The solid state is the speed state. Really fun to use on slopes but mostly used for its dash, both for platforming and breaking some environment props. Careful not to slip though, droplet’s movements aren’t as precise in this state!

• The gas state allows a certain aerial freedom. It offers height gain during transition as well as a short period of hovering. Let yourself go with the flow of both the air and your joystick!

Secondary mechanics

Lots of other minor sneakier mechanics will be distilled. Players may find about split, drill and traversal. It’s up to you to find them all! 

Artistic Direction

Let’s discuss our artistic choices for a bit.

The Blue Path offers a stroll available to anyone. Peacefulness and calm of the environment will let the players take their time without ever risking a game over. 

Landscapes are conceived to be as open as can be so that every player can enjoy the various panoramas properly. From underground waterfalls through to crystal forest and hot springs, each and every biome will get their own sound and color palette. 

The exploration and mystery-solving aspect will be highlighted with a diversity of scales in these various environments.

We wish to propose a calm and peaceful experience within which the soundtrack adds a nice feeling of tranquility.

Lore

Let’s briefly talk about the vein’s lore : The observant player will soon notice that the environment isn’t as deserted as it would seem. In the wake of your discoveries, you may theorize on the evolution of the seemingly eternal people living here. This shall lead to even more research, and your newly obtained knowledge might even open certain doors! We can’t say much more without spoiling anything, so it's gonna be up  to you to uncover everything the vein has to offer ;)

• Possibility of adding new regions via DLC
• A crowdfunding is being considered for the end of 2024
